Cook Medical and Goodwill Commercial Services are joining forces to create a new medical equipment manufacturing facility that will bring 100 jobs to the northwest corner of 38th Street and Sheridan Avenue in downtown Indianapolis.
Cook purchased the property and donated it to the project, and Goodwill will manage the facility’s operation. The site will be registered as a medical device manufacturer with the FDA and will make introducers, sheaths, drainage catheters, and needles.
Goodwill will provide employees with wrap-around support services including mental and physical health support, substance abuse support, soft skills training, and housing stabilization. Through this partnership, employees can access free education from a high school diploma all the way up to a master’s degree.
Developers tapped OCS and VCS to install a large heat pump chiller plant in the facility with a unique pressure cascade and building automation system to maximize energy efficiency.
